My go-to shot list (so you don’t freeze in front of the camera) When I’m shooting in a black dress, I like having a mini checklist so I don’t leave with only one good angle: 1 close-up (show makeup, jewelry, hair details) 1 mid-shot (waist-up, bag visible) 2 full-body shots (one still, one walking) 1 over-the-shoulder shot 1 mirror/reflection shot 1 prop moment (balloons, cake, or the pop-of-color bag) Little details that make the photos look “expensive” I’m serious when I say the small things do the heavy lifting: Clean nails (even neutral polish looks polished) Steam the dress (wrinkles show up fast on dark fabric) Mind your posture (shoulders down, neck long—instant elegance) Keep accessories consistent (don’t mix too many metals unless it’s intentional) Match the decor to the theme (especially for birthday setups) If you’ve been wanting a photoshoot that feels bold, classy, and effortless all at once, this is your sign to do the black dress moment
